    Hello. I have such old earrings. As you see, they are different in shape. Whether interesting from different sets or can such design. IMG_20181020_144605.jpg IMG_20181020_144637.jpg IMG_20181020_144718.jpg IMG_20181020_144757.jpg

    I do not know anything. They are from England.

    I would think they were simply a mis-matched pair. And I would caution you about describing them as antique. They appear to be a modern "tribal" import.

    They are from Afghanistan or slightly further east into Central Asia, made in the late 20th-early 21st century. So recently made, definitely not antique.
    The stones look like carnelians, which are used a lot in the region, for protective purposes.
    The spiral decorations show an Ottoman influence.
    They have some value, just not antique value.

    Mismatching is common in the region. They are hand made in small workshops and put in a box with similar ones. As long as they have some similarity it is deemed ok, and that is the way the locals wear them as well.
    I have a pair of mismatched Uzbek earrings and wear them quite happily. No one has ever commented on them being different, maybe they never even noticed.

    Thanks. Interesting information. Of course, they are not ancient. I translate the text through an interpreter. It turned out a little funny :).

    Yes, it is. I love them.
    The Turkish are copying these styles now, and I think the second pair are Turkish made from Central Asian originals. The model numbers which are scratched on the back are Western numerals, which Turkey also uses. Central Asia uses Eastern Arabic numerals.

    A bit late, but I finally got around to taking a picture of my mismatched Uzbek earrings. They are mid 20th century, silver with coral, pearls and green glass.
    Spot the difference:playful::

    Thanks, Kim. I think most people never noticed.
    I must say I only noticed when I cleaned some goo from around the pearls and saw that the surrounding cabochon ovals were different in size. Then I spotted the other differences, the positioning of the granules, the cabochons on the sides, even the slight difference in size. It doesn't bother me at all, I wear them a lot.
