The first 3 or 4 of the pictures are upside down. Will someone please fix them?

@Michael Gittoes, would you please say where you see the illegible signature? I'm just not seeing it!

Maybe he is referencing the LY monogram above the 1845 date?

I'm just not sure....I LOVE the plaque....wonder it's size/dimensions too!!! There IS/ARE some small initials above her eyelids..........?

I keep coming up with PDF file sites and book references, but nothing really on the plaque...........

He must have copied and pasted it from somewhere.

  12. The plaque is 6 inches high and 5 inches wide. Trying to identify the plaque artist JY ? Image(s) taken from a camera !

AND I went through all 32 pages of that Proantic.com site full of Bronzes of all sorts, but did NOT find any Marie Antionette bronze plaque, BUT did find another who had the same "Eck Et Durand" in the title, but NOT the same name....although it was a bronze plaque, with similarities to Marie.....COULD NOT find a "L Y" on it anywhere though... sigh......but here it is on the site:

Who knows, maybe there's a connection somehow!!!

Sorry. I meant that you may have created it outside the forum that has size limits. I have been able to do that by copying and pasting a photo that is too large into a post, saving the image onto my laptop, resizing it and then uploading as a file.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Very well could be -- Although the one you found is signed differently, it still seems that you are on a good research track. Finding a monogram known to be by Ysabeau would be another step to take.

    re proantic:
"Antiquaire pendant plus de 15 ans sur le marché des puces de Saint-Ouen" olàlà
"ingénieur informaticien, Stéphane a appris son métier à Palo Alto, dans la Silicon Valley, où il a vécu plus de 5 ans" c'est l'Amérique !"
which means - nothing. two brothers that obviously thought of offering a platform to the dealers there.
although a tourist attraction - btw it's les marchés because split up in several halls and streets - it is nowadays mostly an overpriced market for copies and fakes ! you will still find real antiques there but certainly no bargains.
and as a reference proantic is "bidon"...

  19. Not too sure I understand your point ?
