This salad plate (8" diam.) is marked "England" with an "S" above and a "P" below. Who made it? and When? Does the pattern have a name?

The registry mark is attached to the bottom of the maker's mark but that picture cannot be expanded.

The same decal around a different central image doesn't guarantee that it was made by the same company. The decals were frequently used by different makers.

Isn't it more often the central image that's used by different companies? But I can see that none of the examples I found have the same candlewicky piecrusty edge as the OP's. So, back to square one with those initials SP.

My reference to "the decals" meant all the decals - both central and around. Now I could be wrong, haven't done count.

That one is close, too, but has a different inner band.

I don't know who used those initials and I can't confirm this but I wonder if it's a Simpsons (Potters) mark. They did make this pattern in their Ambassador Ware / Fondeville line but I haven't found this mark attributed to them though it sort of makes sense. They were previously SOHO Pottery so also a thought.

This pattern in blue shows the crimped rim.
