Hey Y’all! This does appear to me to be silver, although the only mark is the “pictograph” on the bottom. Relative did go to Central America and Mexico but also went through a pretty significant “South Western” phase(I had some of the clothes to prove it lol!). Thanks as always!
The hand-tooled mark with and "H" next to it is very collectable. Here's an example with and without the "H" on the same piece. Experts will need to look at it to be sure. https://www.medicinemangallery.com/...-silver-bracelet-c-1940s-size-6-5-j12985.html
WOW!! In the hand and to the eye it seems a bit more “basic” than the pieces I can find online…the very form of a “simple pin” seems scarce, if not somewhat odd. I think I’ll try to reach out to some of these sources. Thanks so much…I will keep us posted if I learn anything!!
Maybe it didn't start out as a simple pin,the stone has been removed/replaced then poorly remounted. There is 4 solder points on the back where something was removed.
Fantastic info. Thanks so much everyone!! It will be interesting to see where this goes no matter what!
Lord only knows… …could’ve been gifted to my relative, bought at auction or the side of the road somewhere!
Based upon the solder points, I suspect it was a ring conversion. They did make some biggies. Worn as a ring, the bezel set on the shadow box would definitely take a few dings.
