Is the small pot really supposed to be sitting on top of the big pot, or is the big pot missing a lid?

Those are certainly an eye-opener, Fid,but these don't look like they were meant to be put on a heat source--kind of small bottomed. It also bothers me that the design of the top one is cut off.

I completely see what you are saying.
All the ones in the links are base wide for stability and effective heat use.

don't bother too much. there is a precise explanation in the pdf I linked.
most people here have zero knowledge about the regions and people - here especially about the Turkic People - in Southern Russia and neighbouring people.

I don't know anything about many things - or I forgot about many stuff I didn't use for many years: just imagine what we had to learn in school in geography ! all capitals of all European countries plus the main rivers and important (culturalwise or sizewise) cities from Ireland to Russia. - and I mean Russia that went eastwards to Wladiwostok at the time!
and now it comes: all capitals of all US states "from California to the New York island " - and if you forgot Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico ... well, the last one was only discussed...:hilarious:

Stick to your guns, then. I only pointed out that the bottom of the teapot is not the large flat type that would go on a burner. That hasn't been addressed.

I didn't write about a burner, but about a heat source. which could be electric as well as a campfire deep in the swamplands.
