I recently bought this item on etsy

    https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/767348273/vintage-tibet-jade-made-dragon-knife

A black jade decorative dagger (it's definitely not sharp in the least)

I was just browsing for jade items on etsy when this caught my eye. It's definitely not "unique" as the seller was selling other jade daggers, some traditional green jade, some black jade. This was so unusual that I decided to get it.

I have no doubt it's genuine black jade, as I have looked at pics of real black jade online and they look the same,

But when was it made, or by whom, or for what reason- I have no idea.

I'm not sure if there are any specialists in vintage jade daggers out there, but I wanted to ask anyway! :D

The only way to know it is really jade is to have it tested when you get it.

It was recently made in China to be sold to people who are willing to buy it. Recently means about a month before you bought it, so it isn't vintage.
It is very loosely based on Chinese traditional ceremonial daggers.

In this case the term Tibet has nothing to do with Tibetan culture, but it was used to attract buyers. The name Tibet sells.
Aren't dragons on the Cites list of endangered species? If so, dragon parts are not allowed to be sold on Etsy.:pompous:

When I contacted our local supermarket objecting to the sale of dragon's eggs, they said they were free range. But after recent protests got ugly (flame thowers!) they finally decided to stop selling them.:smug:

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

Black Jade is an etheric bodyguard and a stone of protection. Its strong elemental energy shields not only the physical body, but guards against negative forces or entities, energy vampires and people projecting anger and aggression.

    I have not confirmed this...
