Trying to identify chawan maker's mark

    Hi, all! I found this chawan in an antique shop and have been trying to identify its maker's mark. I was hoping that someone a bit more familiar with Japanese ceramics might point me in the right direction. The texture of the clay, style of decoration and glaze color are reminiscent of karatsu ware, although the grey/blue coloration is a bit unusual. It also has a distinct thumb impression on one side. Any potential leads would be helpful!

    Studio pottery is nearly impossible to ID, even in the U.S.

    There's a Facebook group...collecting Japanese pottery...they sometimes can ID things like this.

    i think the style is japanese seto ware,:D

    I agree, try "Collecting Japanese Ceramics and Art" on fb ( not "Collecting Japanese Ceramics & Art", that is a different group...
