I have looked up this Gien Castle mark on this small planter but can not decide what the year is since it is not exactly like the ones listed. There is a crack and a chip but the decorations are rather whimsical. Thank you for any help. I don't want to provide incorrect information in the listing.3 3/4"x 3 3/4"

Dunno, but I love it! Please send the sales link when you get it listed?

I love it too. The men sort of look like commedia dell'arte figures.

Thank you so much Say it slowly. I found the mark on other sites but it always had france under it and mine did not so I was afraid it was not the same. Looks like 1866-1875 is a match. I bought it because i liked the figures. Not to offend the men but it does rather look like the males are making fools of themselves ! It is really too bad it has a chip and the crack but turn that side away it is delightful. Thank you for every ones quick response.

Bring it on! Those are usually the only ones I can afford. I finally acquired my first piece of Wedgewood Fairyland Lustre that way!

I had to look that term up but it fit "foolish old men, devious servants, or military officers full of false bravado."
