Perfect. You are so spectacular!:kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss: Just what I was looking for - information about the state of the art of these bottles, and as a bonus, you give me your analysis of these bottles. I buy things as an opportunity to learn, and because of the generous hearts and spirits of you and the other members of this site, I get the benefit of my purchase. I will enjoy these for a while and then, when the opportunity to find a better piece, I will have a better clue about what to look for. Thank you so much!

I saw a not very old reverse painted snuff bottle sell for well over 1k recently. It was just a desirable artist. I think it was from the 60s or 70s. I was surprised a bottle that new would be that valuable. There’s a ton of snuff bottles worth $10-$40 and a ton worth a ton. Super collectible all of them just because they are small and easy to amass because of it.

When it comes to snuff bottle history, inside painting is a relatively recent development.
It only started in the late 19th century, as a novelty feature for the snuff bottle as a decorative object rather than a utilitarian bottle for herbal medicine. That is why age isn't that important, and the focus is on artistic merit.

I've seen fantastic prices on these. My interest was more in learning about new objects rather than the value or collectability of these. If something of real value comes along, I want to be able to spot it of course. Thank you for your thoughts.

Now that a very interesting piece of information. I had no idea, but that makes sense as anything put in these bottles would scratch the paint away and contaminate the contents. Thank you.
