Featured Coral? necklace and ring

More things from mother/grandmother:
The last time I posted about a possible coral necklace I was disappointed... this time I ?think? I have the real thing. The clasp is marked 9 CT. It measures 20.5 inches or 52 cm. A delicate little thing but it’s just the style I’ve always been searching for.
The US size 7.5 ring has a 1963-1986 Polish Hallmark indicating Warsaw-made 585 gold.
Any ideas on age of the necklace and types/colors of coral in both pieces?

 

Yay!!! Coral it is! This cylinder clasp is old, after 1st quarter of 20th century they were rather olive shaped.
For the age of the ring, the marks may say

Definitely European coral. It's got some age on it too, and the metal is all gold. French marks on the ring?

 

Polish, 1963-1986.

Yep. Same beastie. Since it has Polish marks and makes @Any Jewelry drool up in the Netherlands, I said European.

In this case, yes, Mediterranean red or salmon coral.
The beads on the necklace probably started out life more red, and turned salmony with age. We call that colour and beautiful soft sheen 'old Dutch', like in the antique Dutch coral necklaces. It is the way we prefer coral. Of course it really is 'old Sardinian, Sicilian, Adriatic', etc.

The beads look older than the clasp, 1830s-40s maybe. Given their shape and irregularity, they could have been recycled from an antique Polish folk necklace worn with regional dress, like these visitors to a Carpathian mountains festival are wearing:

(I did wonder about the age of the beads... they seem quite crudely "cut" into their spherical shape.)

EDIT: I have two of those beaded vests, though mine are black. One is from my childhood and one is adult-sized. Here's me, c.1972-ish, in my much too small Polish outfit, with go-go boots! (That's our house and AMC Ambassador in the background.)
