    And Marrakesh is probably where Yves Saint Laurent got his inspiration. He lived there part of the year.
    This was his stunning Marrakesh Moroccan Art Deco home, Villa Oasis in the Jardin Majorelle:

    You're right about Marrakesh being his inspiration for the serpent earrings, at least according to the online research I did before I listed them, but I was never able to find out when they were made....other than after 1966 when he first traveled to Morocco. I'm thinking they're probably from the 80s when big bold clip earrings were in fashion. Thank you for posting the pictures of his art deco home...the colors are amazing.

    Chefchaouen was influenced by the culture of Moorish and Jewish refugees from Andalusia after the Spanish took back control of Southern Spain.
    Tangier is another Andalusian city in northern Morocco.
