Is this some sort of basket? Or maybe a seat or small table even? It’s very sturdy and well made (but maybe bit crude) Looks to have a bit of age to it (or maybe just left outside) It’s 56cm across and stands 36cm high. Thank you for any comments. Keep well

Hi Debora, yes maybe. Good comment. Thanks

But also is it not too large/wide for footstool?

Footstool sounds about right to me........

Thanks for that.. Well then it’s one over ‘engineered’ and reinforced footstool :)

Appreciate the comment. I also had the small chicken coop idea when I was searching but all the ones I found had open dome shaped tops..

I imagine this one would work if you wanted to take your chickens to the market (for a nice day out;)).

A very handy item to have on hand when looking for a place to put one's cupids.

This is what can happen if you're not careful with your cupids.

Very dangerous to have your cupids running wild!

My parents brought back from Jakarta a batch of baskets of various size that match the "seat" part of your basket. They were used to display vegetables, fish, spices etc. at market. I wonder if your" seat" was design[IMG]ed to be removed and set the other way to raise the basket at market. now-a days they use plastic tubs.

Or it could be a marriage. I have a basket like that without a lid, which I think is Chinese, and also a few Indonesian trays that have nothing to do with the basket.

I don't keep cupids in my basket, or even chickens. Just bits and pieces of wood which come in handy sometimes.
