I'm sorry Iouri, didn't mean to make you feel bad.
It is just that many of these modern 'lone' corpus's (corpi?) came from coffins. They are often given to relatives after a funeral service as a memory of the spiritual aspect of the service. It helps them mourn their lost one. At some point people declutter and decide the corpus doesn't mean much to them anymore, and get rid of it.
