Featured How to describe these lamps..not antique

    Thanks in advance for any help. I'm not sure what to call these lamps. They stand 17" high and weigh 15 lbs each. Thanks again for taking a look.

    Here they are as regular shields.

    Amazing is what I would call them. You don't see that kind of quality in modern decorative pieces. Accent, decorative, just table lamps, of historical inspiration, if you will. Would work rather well with several different styles I can think of. Great find!

    My first impression was dahl shields as well. These are particularly nice, with those elegant swirls.
    Dahl shields are found throughout Southern and Southeastern Asia. I have one from Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia.

    Could these just be replicas? The back looks too smooth, no rings like I see on others.

    I agree, not very old and never used as shields. Very nicely made though, and perfect for someone with an Asian style decor or for arms collectors.
