See also Lady Hale and her spider. My experience is that of aj, too. And blokes are wearing brooches.

As to Caplan, the people who buy from her aren't exactly Ebay buyers. She also sells through Mappin and Webb and Harrods.

When looking at my hoard, it appears I mainly buy brooches!:hilarious:
    In fact, they are:
-Less expensive than similar materials, era and making rings or earrings.
-far less counterfeit (and if they are, easy to spot on!)
-versatile for wearing (I often wear them clasped on a pearls or beads necklace, some can be used as a bail too.
Conclusion... As a buyer, I'm really happy they aren't in favor;)

    Another gorgeous combo, kyra.
I also use brooch converters, wear brooches on hats, and tiny lace pins on masks.
You'd better buy some more soon, they are back in fashion. The vintage and antique market will be plundered soon.;)

That's good to hear, I hope they start to come our way. Aside from specific areas and collected names we are finding (gold and silver) brooches are about as low as they have been over the past 20 years and we were getting more for them 10 years ago. As Kyra said they seem to be a good buy at the moment - it's a buyers market. We also sell world wide from our own website and via the online platforms, although we only source from the UK.

Hopefully there will be a good revival, but it's going to need some younger style icons to drive it. Looking at the demographic of the women you posted they are not going to inspire 30 yo professionals to take up the brooch mantle. Most younger customer we deal with still think of brooches as something your nana wore unfortunately.

Before the photos of those two politicians I posted four links to articles about the brooch's comeback.;) Worth a read, it doesn't take much time.:)

The Harry Styles Effect, among others. I'd say Billy Porter, but Billy is a law unto himself. I think it's the whole Eco-friendly ethos - vintage brooches don't end up in the waste stream like a corsage.
