A red pig in a blue poke?

I have been selling my lifetime accumulation of articles during the past few years. One of the items is a book titled "The Memoirs of Vincent Nolte or Fifty Years in Both Hemispheres" published 1934. I have misplaced this tome, but have a question about the cloth binding. All listings on the net show the binding in blue. Mine is red and I find no reference for this color. Does anyone know how to determine the value or where to search for the answer? Sorry that I do not have a photo to offer at this time.

Scarce perhaps but... It doesn't appear to be a terribly valuable book. A different color binding might indicate a different publisher or edition. And that's where a photograph of the title page would be helpful.

If you haven't found it yet, here's a helpful list of book reference sites posted at the top of the Book Forum.

It has happened to me many times that I have been frustrated in the search for some item that I can picture in my mind, only to find eventually that my memory, almost always about the color, was wrong & the wanted item was right there, e.g., looking for a red book when it is actually blue. Any chance that's happening here?

I suppose it is a possibility...

"Occam's Razor." Tis blue, not red as the color of my face. Actually, my wife located the book and said, as she handed it to me, "Here's your red book."
    Thanks @Bronwen

Too funny! Things like that happen to us all. And minimal value as no dust jacket. (There also appears to be foxing to pages.)

There is a dust jacket, but after loaning the book to a "friend", it was returned with the jacket in pieces. :(:mad:

In my time, I've learned to never loan books to a friend, any friend. They either don't get returned or they get returned damaged.
