Sorry, this is a rubbish photo, I'll try for a better one tomorrow. Ignore the right hand blurred marks, they're London import silver for 1997.

The left hand mark is a crown over what looks like a stylised sideways shield with what might be KS. Really heavy articulated torc. So I think it has to be a decent maker.

    Thoughts?

It is gorgeous, obb. S925 could be Scandinavian. Danish, maybe Norwegian?

Yeah, I'm thinking Scandi. It's heavy: close on three ounces.

I can see the crown now, but it is not a mark I know. Most sites and books concentrate on antique and/or Modernist silver from Denmark and Norway, but this is later. The maker may have started after the Modernist era.

It's certainly recent - as I say, the import mark is 1997.

I wore it tonight, so there's every chance it may never leave me. ;)

Modern Irish mark maybe? I've never seen that before either. It doesn't feel American, with with artisans who knows.

Irish wouldn't have an import mark though, it would have the harp. I'm certainly in the Scandi camp. Oh well, I'll find out one day!

Denmark's a possibility; the Norwegians and Swedes mark the holy hobgoblins out of their work.

The Swedish do, but the Norwegians don't.

Shows how much I know about modern stuff; in the Victorian era they did.

    :)
The well-known makers did, but lesser or provincial silversmiths often didn't. In 1891 it changed to the current, very basic, system.
