Love this! Landon is my son's name.

 

Tonight I scored in my own "stuff" pile. I wrap a Chanukkah gift box for a friend locally every year. The family always looks forward to the "cool stuff" and the "What-the"s in the "Ruth box". I pulled one small piece out of my stash only to find more I hadn't even remembered buying. Score!

 

LOL, I do that all the time when I sort my stashes. I forget what I buried in various hoards. Thank you for the information on NA sand cast jewelry. When I googled the topic, it was amazing how it came to be. The designs do seem to reflect the influence of the Spaniards, and images of examples were similar in design to my pin. I hated to spend the $10 (pricey by my thrift shop standards), but my treasure-hunting sense kicked in. And I am glad looking at examples that I did spend the $10. I was at another thrift shop and the ladies told me they have "tons" of vintage costume jewelry to go through in the back, but they can't get to it and tag it fast enough (they seem to try to research every last piece, and most of it is overpriced.) Of course, I wasn't allowed to look at it, but they asked me a lot of questions about what they had in their huge display cases....

Hollyblue, I thought it looked Asian, too....especially with coral in it. I think the design is a Moorish vibe....so we are all correct in a sense. I love it when I find something that is a mystery and solve it. You guys all rock!

And in regards to mulling over retirement, I got this in my fortune cookie the other day

 

Going to fetch this over 3m glass cabinet, in a minute, wich me luck!

 

Boy could I use that cabinet !

 

So could most of us, if we had the space! It's perfect for holding objets de vertue, aka junk with a pedigree.

 

Finally got a shot of these. Toshikane porcelain buttons, new in original box.

 

All went well!
Managed to dismantle it perfectly.
Need to clear the room now where I want it...
Forgot to mention the best part; it costed; nine euro twenty five cents. ;-)

 

At that price it had to go home; it's probably worth that in scrap metal!

Too bad I didn’t find a creamer, but got a teapot, sugar and 3 cups with saucers.

Also got this weird glass whale paperweight, it’s bevel edged at 6” wide, 3-3/4” tall and 2-1/4” deep and almost 4-1/2 lbs. Lots of honest wear on the bottom.
