Hi all! I just purchased my first home - a beautiful Edwardian located outside of Toronto, Canada. The home came with several antique light fixtures. I am curious if anyone can tell me anything about these pieces?

    1. Hanging Oil Lamp with Deer & Cherries - cast iron and milk glass, excellent condition, approx 42”H x 13”

    2. Hanging Hurricane Oil Lamp with Crystals & Roses - cast iron, metal, glass, has the word EAGLE engraved on metal, approx 42”H x 18”

    3. Hanging Electric Light with Settler Imagery - working condition, approx 17” diameter

    4. Chandelier with Hand Painted Cherubs - working condition, 8 arms, approx 18" diameter

    Many thanks!

Hi and welcome to the group :)

They're very pretty. You're fortunate that they left them for you...and that nobody electrified the kerosene lamps.

Curious, did you test the fixtures with a magnet to determine that they are cast iron?

Hi there. Thanks for your response! I just checked and they are not magnetic, so correction on being cast iron. Yes, very fortunate that the previous owner passed along these treasures :)

You may be able to find a few crystal spears to replace your broken ones, if you're inclined to do so. Not needed, of course. Here's a fairly close match:

Thank you this is so helpful to learn more about it! Are you able to see the price listed on that site by chance? I don't intend to sell, it's more for knowledge and insurance.

Aren't you the lucky one? Jeez!
Your first lamp may be an early Bradley and Hubbard ca. 1900. It's got the right shade. In my part of the U.S. I could see it going for $300 at auction, easily. Nice green font and milk glass shade. In fact, nice work all around.
