I agree, it’s not- it looks like a stamp. And very old van cleef was done by hand- Which isn’t crisp either. So saying it isn’t crisp isn’t the type of piece this is. It’s not from the modern time where he made smooth markers marks.

it’s clearly from a time where marker marks were not done so well. I don’t know what it is. It can be anything… but I was hoping people had seen it before.

no worries. I did reach out to van cleef to see if I can send it in for cleaning. If it’s their piece they will clean it… if not they will send it back without cleaning it.

 

That would be long before they ever began, antique marks are often very precise.

Yes! Absolutely! I don’t live close to the boutique (several hours away). So I just sent them a message to see if I can mail it. They offered to exam in the boutique (which I think would have been free) but I live to far to drive to one.
I will definitely keep you all posted! You helped so much.

Oh no. It worth it. If they offer to send me a mailer I will mail it. They are doing good about communication right now. They are asking me what piece I need cleaned etc and my location… so we shall see

The item is as Van Cleef for cleaning…. So far have not heard from them about it… may be some time before they get to it.

 

It was delivered Monday 18 Oct.

if they are backed up like Roberto coin it could be some time. I barely got my Roberto coin bracelet back, and it had been with them for weeks.

 

Hi! Just wanted to update. No word yet from van cleef, but I found another textured bracelet around the same year. Here markings are similar with the VCA stamp inside of a shape

 

The piece in the photo looks like junk,casting porosity,hinge misaligned and probably more not shown in photo.

 

Well the piece from the 1970s and is Authentic…. So there is that. The only reason I posted it was because of the stamps to show they have differences between the different years. Clearly you don’t know or research van cleef pieces… now that I’ve had to look over serval about this I’ve seen how they “some” don’t have serial numbers as that was something that was not always done.

The topic of discussion is the makers mark and that’s the only reason I posted it. Clearly they didn’t read any of the thread hence their unrelated comment that had nothing to do with the topic.
