Here's something I've not come across before, not sure if it's meant to be a cartoon character, but it's pretty odd. Dates to the 60's with a London import hallmark on the wing back and a mark which looks like R&G to me, inside the head it is stamped Sterling (twice). I can't reference the makers mark which is bugging me as it is pretty distinctive. Made from silver, enamel, marcasite and a paste eye 34mm (1.35inch) tall. Anyone recognise the maker?

'Whimsical' is a word I would use.

I'm surprised it's silver. I've seen a lot of enamelled pot metal ones with marcasite with this tweeness.

aj, I doubt it's the same company, that would be a British import sponsor mark, hm?

    - Someone on mushrooms I think!

@Any Jewelry , many thanks. There doesn't seem to be a lot about them on the net, and works attributed to them don't seem to be like this, that doesn't completely rule it out of course.

You would think with something so leftfield it would be easy to track down, but I can't find anything like it.

Agree, it's surprisingly thick silver too, far heavier gauge than would be necessary, a real oddball.

Could be, not necessarily though. I'll do a little digging in the UK.;)

It's too new for me to know much of anything, but if it's British "twee" might be an apt descriptor. Twee-twee perhaps. :chicken::chicken::chicken:

It's not going to be British made as it has a import mark - could have been designed here though and made overseas.

The enamel looks Chinese but who knows.
