Hi guys ~ There is only a sticker saying where the painting was purchased..An art gallery no longer around, unfortunately. I was thinking Hilga too! That or Hilsy. I also wondered about the first letter T. It may be a Sunday painter

Hello everyone! I found it! JohnnyCb09, you were right on Hilzer It's called Mrs. Hollander's Barn by Hilzer, but I have only been able to find it in a print (On Ebay and Pinterest). This is an actual painting ~ Will research what I can find from here. I'm so happy I found this site. What a great group you are! I am forever thankful!!! <3

 

May be the same barn but... That's not the same work.

It seems like your artist may have been a “one trick pony”, check out EBTH auction under the name Hilger.

I'm mostly seeing Hilger. Here are some others that could be by the same person (assuming it's not factory). The print of the red barn so clearly says Hilzer. Maybe not the same.

Wow you guys..Thank you for all this info! I wasn't clear on the "sticker" on the back..It was handwritten (by my grandparents I'm assuming) that said "Purchased at art gallery in Lomita, California". My grandparents passed in the 60's and all galleries I called are newer, unfortunately. You've all given me so much to work with. I appreciate it so very much! <3
