I’m pretty sure I’ve gotten all the glue. I’ll try to figure out the cause of the gaps.

The bottom lines up perfectly. I wonder if someone sanded these on top.

Will that take paint or stain?

    It claims it will

Tough, expanding, sticks to everything glue. Gorilla Glue is a 100% waterproof glue, safe for indoor and outdoor use and strong enough to stand up to the elements. Incredibly strong, Gorilla Glue is known for its industrial holding power and versatility, regardless of the surface.
    • 100% waterproof
    • Doesn't break down when exposed to outdoor elements
    • Versatile: easily bonds wood, stone, metal, ceramic, foam, glass, concrete and much more
    • Incredibly strong
    • Expands 3-times into the materials to form an incredibly strong bond
    • Temperature resistant: bond holds through hot and cold temperatures
    • Sandable
    • Paintable
    • Stainable

Gorilla glue expands so it will pop out the joint. I tried it once and man, did it surprise me :eek::eek::eek:

No Gorilla glue, it is stronger than the wood and will cause more breaks, as well as expand and cause a mess. I think what happened is there is no longer the original clean break along the edges of the planks so you will not get a clean, sharp join. Once you have the planks reglued, using Elmer's Wood Glue, you can fill the gaps with Minwax wood filler. let it dry then sand it down . It WILL take a stain. Or just leave the gaps if they are minimal and won't snag your bottom.

    Primer and stain.

I put some of the stain Im using in the wood filler, hopefully won’t be so noticeable.

Then I must get my car washed from all the sawdust! :hilarious:
