Can you read the signature and give me some info on this kind of lamp?

I was searching for mid-century signed French floral lamps and came across this (same artist):

Gesigneerd Lusy... That translates from the Dutch to "signed Lusy!"

Dutch and Flemish artists tend to have the same first name: Gesigneerd.
    I blame the parents.

That's funny. In Spain, many children seem to be named Vete. The blame may be shared there. ;)

    Any idea of value?

Does this mean this lamp is Dutch?

It means that once upon a time someone picked up information about a Lusy signed lamp from a Dutch or Flemish language web site and ever since the artist's first name has been identified incorrectly.

I don't quite understand. Are you saying the name is not Gesigneerd Lusy? It's a different Lucy?

Yes, that's what I'm saying. As above, "Gesigneerd" means "Signed" in Dutch and Flemish. It is not a given name.

Maybe this helps: gesigneerd = signed.

    Dutch sentence:
'Dit schilderij is gesigneerd door de kunstenaar'
    Translation:
'This painting is signed by the artist'

    @Christy Roppel

Sorry for introducing the confusion. The supposed first name looked odd but I failed to even check it. I kept seeing "Engineered" :)

Debora and AJ clarified the errs of my ways. Thanks, ladies!

Not necessary but... What a gracious apology, @sabre123.

OK, now I'm really confused. It appears to only have “Lucy” . Can anyone tell me if this is French? I’d it also mid century? Any idea as to value? I would be most appreciative of any more info you could provide.

I'm sorry I can't be of any further help. The signature does appear to be "Lusy." There are other floral-decorated pieces to be found on the internet with that signature. They are all of high quality. This one is identified as 1950s but I have no idea if that's true. I'd be more than happy to help but... Not an area where I'm knowledgable.

The name says nothing to me, but the cobalt blue should itself be a pointer, and the base on the one Debora found is all-too-familiar and used by Sevres. Maybe you can look up this Lusy from that angle.
