Solid brass cameo type

    IMG_20210912_205249~2.jpg I have this solid brass piece. Similar to a cameo brooch but solid. No clasp or pin on reverse. Just under 6cm long and 1cm at thickest point and approx 140g in weight. The face is raised. I'm completely stumped as to what it is and would appreciate any insight anyone may be able to offer me. Many thanks

    Sorry-I disappoint again. I do not recognize her as anyone in particular, Possible it's a portrait but I'm inclined to think not. Guessing meant to be inset into something. Sounds heavy for jewllery, so furniture (there was a period when they put cameo-like medallions into furniture frames) or some decorative item, maybe box lid. If there are clues here to its purpose, I'm missing them. Sorry again.

    Many thanks for the info. I have 2 others about same height but half the weight. These are of men and both identical. Will start looking at furniture medallions to see if I can find any more info. Thanks again
