Bought at antiques fair, it's unmarked and the panels appear to be ceramic, one is chipped. I was aware when I bought it that the little peg bit that secures the clasp was missing but it's so pretty and was very cheap.

What is this type of clasp called please as I will try and find either a replacement peg or whole clasp. Also if I can't find an old one would it be sacrilege to replace it with a modern one? :) thumbnail_IMG_20210911_122644.jpg thumbnail_IMG_20210911_122702.jpg thumbnail_IMG_20210911_122743.jpg thumbnail_IMG_20210911_122718.jpg

    Very nice, crazycatlady.
It is an enamel panel bracelet from Isfahan, Iran (Persia). Probably 1940s-50s.

I usually make replacement pins myself, just bend a loop on one end of a piece of silver wire, and put a safety chain between the loop on the wire and a loop of one of the panels.

You're welcome.:) Make sure the wire is thick enough, otherwise it could slip out too easily.
A nice round loop is traditional. If you don't have jewellery plyers, just find something else to wrap the wire around.

In the middle of the night I remembered the name for this Persian enamel (brain is a bit of an underachiever at the moment:wacky:). The term is Minakari.:)

Thank you, that's very helpful :) Haven't managed to make my pin yet, I keep making them either too long or too short. Hope I can get the right length before I run out of wire!

That's when my great ideas spring up, in the middle of the night. To do with the mind not being full of day time babble!

Cut the straigh end off a 'too long' one while it is inserted into the clasp spirals.;)
