    Nice bit of milk glass. Late 19th Bohemian with that shape and embellishment.

    It isn't only cheap glass which has broken pontils. And not all pontils are ground. Fire polishing is a thing.

    That Ebay listing is yet more nonsense and horribly overpriced with that condition. Bristol, my eye. If every piece identified as Bristol had been made there the entirety of the west of England would have sunk under the weight of it.

    Do you think it would have been made for the Middle Eastern/Turkish/North African market, with those palm trees?

    Nt neccessarily. There was a huge thing here in the 19th C for glass houses and conservatories with palms, as well as things like parlour palms in one's drawing room. Don't forget we had a long history of plant collectors and growing "exotics" too. So this would have fit in well with that kind of decor. Much Bohemian glass was made for the UK market.

  8. Looks like they cracked the rod off.there all small white flakes throughout its surface you can see it clearly from the top down photo.
    I really appreciate the help.
