Please help me identify this triangular blade dagger

It has the same type blade as a ww1 trench knife. The scabbard looks like it buttons on a uniform or had a leather strap. I've looked everywhere and I can't find it. I dont even know what country it came from. There is no markings at all. Thank you

    at 1st glance , maybe a field made ww1 dagger......needs more research..:)

    it may have been fashioned as a boot dagger with the button holding it in place..

    The button is called a stud for the scabbard frog to attach.
    It hangs on a belt when not in use.

    Sometimes called a Rondel dagger, however most Rondel daggers had a circular guard.

    I think it is a dagger made by cutting down a triangular bayonet. The handle and guard are very much hobby-made-looking, and the scabbard is oddly-shaped probably from modifying the bayonet’s scabbard.

    not many daggers with frogs....
    more of a bayonet thing...

    but that stud would stop it from going down into a high boot..
