I think it’s a medium size processional cross, possibly from Lalibela ,Ethiopia (also called a Lalibela cross?) I have read some of the previous threads on coptic items.I know these crosses are now mass produced (some even have applied petina) It’s 34cm or 13.3 inches long. Looks really old to me. Please let me know what you think. Thank you

Thank you for the response and interesting video. I can understand that it is difficult to da te. I like the fact that this cross is not perfect, there’s several little ‘mistakes’ and some things and details don’t quite align. Makes it more interesting.

These Ethiopian crosses are always attractive. Yes, yours is a Lalibela cross, no, it doesn't look old to me, nor do I think it was ever used as a proper processional cross.
My parents had a few antique ones, both in iron and brass. The brass ones were smoothly worn and had nice rounded edges.

    :)
Much appreciated. Thank you for your comments. Does make sense about the smoothly worn and rounded edges. Anyway so not old, that’s a pity :)
