Another recent addition to my private gallery of originals. (Another from the Hepburn section of my collection). This is a 1956 original proof of Audrey Hepburn in a glam image wearing opera gloves & cape, it is credited to photographer Bud Fraker, and is also stamped at being taken May 24, 1956. This beautiful condition original proof was taken during production of the film Funny Face (released 1957), and was to be used as a publicity image. ❤️Maven

@Fid The one in winter is actually a publicity/promo photo while she was filming Charade. I got that one from a big private collection in France. ❤️Maven

It's interesting that the Pomanteo cover seems to be from the same Fraker shoot as the B&W portrait.

@moreotherstuff I’ve seen various original images from that Fraker shoot, but have not yet seen the actual image matching the Pomanteo cover, interestingly enough! ❤️Maven

@moreotherstuff Yesterday, I managed to locate the rare 1957 German magazine Der Stern, that is in comparable condition to the rare Pomanteo magazine I already have framed, it features the same image of Audrey Hepburn on the cover. The odds of such finds are certainly very slim, indeed, some luck & intuition on my side. (Here is the German issue I just purchased to go with the Greek issue). ❤️Maven

The 1957 German issue (the previous owner’s photo of it)

the post-war Stern is in itself a collectible - although politically doubtful. there was a Stern magazine in 1938/39 with a yellow star and the post-war founder of the "new" Stern named Henri Nannen was a member of the SS propaganda formation SS-Standarte Kurt Eggers.
the same problem shines up with the Der Spiegel that was thought to be "liberal" by the British censorship in Hamburg due to a British officer as co-founder; there were 6 - at least - out of 15 of the editorial staff that served in different Propaganda units of the Waffen-SS...

@Fid Very interesting, I enjoyed reading your historic information you so kindly provided. When I bought the Audrey one I knew it was a rare issue, but as a whole, didn’t realize how collectable that era Stern was. Thank You, ❤️Maven
