Featured Audrey Hepburn at the premier of Roman Holiday 1953 ❤️

*Just purchased for my collection. I love a good back story behind a photograph at times, this story made me purchase this image. This is a stricken from the original negative photograph of Audrey Hepburn attending the premier of the film Roman Holiday in Westwood, California 1953 (the print measures 9x8 inches). *Although this was produced in 1994. The image was created, and was then left in a print storage locker, protected from the elements, light etc, and not discovered till some years later. I look forward to it’s arrival, plus an interesting story to tell those who may eventually view it when it’s framed. (Sorry if this doesn’t fall under the “absolute original vintage/antique photo category I usually post”, but this one had an appeal/intrigue of it’s own, to me). ❤️Maven

 

Beautiful photo from such a lovely movie. I always thought Audrey & Gregory had wonderful chemistry in that film, particularly the later intimate scene in the car. As an aside, there are at least 2 photos of Audrey & Grace Kelly at the Oscars?, next to a mirror, that are fabulous! Would love to have one of those some day. Both actresses were so regal. Glad to see a serious collector of Audrey Hepburn, thank you for sharing!

 

Thank You very kindly @Jerry Coker My private collection consists of mainly original first generation proofs of many iconic people dating back to about 1904, mostly actors & actresses, performers etc. Audrey Hepburn always had a special appeal to me, I have several originals of her by Richard Avedon, Bud Fraker, to name just a couple, I have a professional photography background. I’ve amassed my extensive Hepburn collection in a relatively short time period as well, through some amazing connections. My first original Audrey being purchased in 2017 along with a Marilyn Monroe (from the original negative, 1953) at that particular time. But, my main focus has certainly been Audrey the last couple years, I do very much cherish my entire collection as a collective, but I’m finding more room & dedication to Audrey these days. ❤️Maven

 

Look at what photographers had to do, to get a shot. Then pop in a new flash bulb and try again.

 

@Roaring20s I have used vintage cameras like that, well more like played around with them when I was little lol. I would imagine they (the photographers) had to be quick! I’m glad in a way I came up as a photographer in the bit more modern era, although I would have loved to take pictures that way back then, if I were around. ❤️Maven
