$avers for less than $6 after senior day discount, a William Ongley oil on canvas, ca. 1885. A bit unusual for him to paint a scene such as this, mostly he did mountain and forest landscapes. He died young @ 53 years in 1890. It is filthy but for the money I won’t complain.

I wouldn't either! It looks like it belonged to the proverbial chimney or to someone who use a coal fire to heat the house.

Wow! It's still exudes the golden glow/essence of light, even though filthy. I can only imagine how it would look if it was clean.

I know nothing about it, but he looks like a superhero!

I'm assuming it's Inuit, but can't figure out if it's made entirely of carved stone or partly metal and partly stone combo.
I snooped around the internet and this was the closest thing I could find. Is this "man fishing" sculpture made by the same artist?

This was for a lady. Not great condition and looks like someone tried to reinforce it or something inside. I know this is more common in other parts of the world, but to me it’s exciting.Paid the equivalent of $25. But yes it needs some restoring.

I'm not sure what you mean by that.....I've just always loved his work and found him to be the most interesting of Iroquois stone carvers..
