Help me narrow down a decade for these purses?

I truly love picking through purse racks in thrift stores in search of the vintage ones! Found these two today, hoping you can date them for me. First is a leather clutch 10.75"L with interior attached coin purse. Second is faceted and round beaded party bag, 12"L including handle. Any info appreciated!

It was designer Bonnie Cashin who introduced the toggle closure to fashion in 1964. (The inspiration supposedly came from the toggles used to secure the roof of her sport's car.) She used it on clothing designs as well as the handbags she designed for COACH. (They're still a signature feature of the COACH brand.) Given your clutch has a glove strap, I'd think 1960s because women discarded hats and gloves by end of decade. Are you sure your clutch is leather? From the photograph, it looks as if it might be vinyl.

The beaded bag is harder to date because those have been made on and off for a several decades. The grosgrain lining makes me think a bit old but not old old. Are the beads plastic or glass?

My initial impression is 1960s for both.
@Debora makes excellent observations with which I agree.

I'd be comfortable with 1960s for both.

Thank you! Interesting observations about Coach- it actually looks quite similar to some vintage Coach purses that I've looked at (hardware, zipper pull) but no maker's mark :pompous:

Not COACH quality leather but the use of the toggle was certainly a COACH knock-off.

Nice I like the first one but these days I almost need a suitcase to carry all my junk in my bag.

Me three. My requirements for a purse are Big and Leather; my record for killing a vinyl bag is four days flat. After that I gave up.

The OP's pair look straight 60s to me.

The first one is very chic, for when you were dressed up. Can't imagine carrying a clutch bag now.

LOL almost all my evening/dinner bags are clutches-use them all the time but not when I’m anywhere that I’d put my bag down and walk away from the table.
