So,here's the story, today i was offered old oil painting by someone here. The painting already looks very old, while i see the signature it was wrote "Fragonard",then i look into google i found that this is one of french famous painter in 18th century, and all of his paintings are really worth of money. So,the seller of this painting got the painting from an old house estate sale, and he didn't realize about whose painting it is.this is a large painting 150 x 100 cm.

so i want to know that do anyone here recognize this is real oil painting of Jean Honore Fragonard?or just old reproduction of painting, and if this is an old reproduction do 1000$ still worth of it?thank you

p.s.the frame do looks like from 18th century?

Yes, a copy, and no, not worth $1000.
There are many paintings with famous names on them, sometimes because they are after a famous person (copy) or just for the name. But this doesn't have the quality, and the wrong name to boot. Good that you ask before buying.:)

I was going to write early 20th century but I think later. And it's not a very successful copy, flat and sad.

Yes. To my eye, the frame doesn't appear to be terribly old. Others may have different opinions.
