Another piece from the jewelry hoard - submarine vs. ship medal?

    Someone put this on a chain to use as a I guess a bracelet. :confused::confused:

    At first I thought this was a submarine but I don't think subs have this type of masts. :confused::confused:

    The actual medal? is 13/16" across.

    I think the whole piece is brass, but it is definitely non-magnetic.

    Could be a lightboat or lightship depending where its from.
    We have a decommissioned one in our local marina, it only has one tower though.

    That looks like a pre-1900 battleship but I don't know enough about warships to know which or from when.

    I think we might have the winner here. It sure does look like the one shown in the photo. :happy::happy:

    That is probably a very good possibility. The little drop down part & the clasp really did not make sense as a bracelet. Possibly belonged to someone who served on an ironclad warship. :happy::happy:

    My guess is that is the USS Maine and it is a Spanish American War era watch fob.
