A family member passed away a few weeks ago and we're going through some things. One is a set of bedside tables, a chest, and a round-topped table, all with leather insets. I've seen them described as both Empire and Hepplewhite. Can anyone comment on the right style? I saw the 2 tables listed at $700 on Chairish, in worse condition than mine, so wondering what the whole set would be worth. The set is pristine.

This is my first post so I hope this is ok.

Not to worry, Pedro. All fine. You'll just have to wait a bit until some furniture people stop by. (Not me!)

Welcome, Pedro! We've seen a number of pieces like these and generally find that they were made (and were quite popular too!) in or about the 1940's. Even I have had 3 very similar. Someone else will have to opine about what they might sell for now, but mine were very inexpensive.

I agree, definitely 1940s.You can call them Hepplewhite style, but its not really Hepplewhite per se. I cant believe someone on chairish was asking $700 for a pair ! They are cheap as all get out since there was so much of it made.Nice stuff, but hardly rare.

40s/50s mahogany for sure. Under $50.00 per piece in my Midwest neck of the woods.
