I posted this as soon as I saw it (you can see I'm still in thrift store), but decided to go ahead & buy it instead of waiting for an answer on who the artist was.
I'm hoping I will be able to at least break even if it's not a cool as I thought it was.
Can anyone tell me who the artist is?
Is this an original from 1925?
Thank you; I appreciate any help.

It’s made by Austin Productions in 1985, Martin Malkin is the artist.

It would appear to be by Mort Malkin from 1985. They were made by Austin Products (at least some are).

    oops too slow:D

aaagghh! I looked for the Austin Prod mark & didn't see it! I wouldn't have paid $60 if I had.
Oh well - Thanks all for the info!

Would think you could get your money out of it and then some if it is in perfect shape. The one INH linked sold for $125, and two are on Ebay (unsold) for over $200.

I'm not a huge fan of Austin Prod, but this is a nicer one. Maybe try for a local sale so you don't have to ship.

Be very, very careful taking that label off. If it pulls the surface, all value is gone. (Should that happen, I'd take it right back to the thrift and try to get my money refunded.)

60 bucks for that at a thrift shop? I wouldn't go back there at all that's a rip off. I see Austin product statues occasionally at thrift shops and they around 10.00 at the most. I would go get my money back and tell them to lower their price.

I am one of 'those people' who would pull the label off in the store to see if the surface sticks with it! Then, I'd put the label right back lol.

Mind you, I only have to do this at thrifts, because retail outlets don't try to damage their merchandise in advance of the sale!

That thrift store gave me a William Allen Walker painting + a rare Rolling Stones poster - and today a Serotta Team Coors Light race bike for $39.
I love that store - It was my fault I didn't look at it better
