The other member's chair was much more elaborate and I believe had the North Wind carved on top. I will not physically have this for a week or two. The chair is made of elm and leather. The top facing of the back of the chair is embossed leather. It is missing the end cap on the top of the right front leg. Hoping to find out: 1) approximate age of chair, 2) where I might find a replacement end cap. I read the Van Dyke's Restorers Catalog with the same passion I use to read the Sear's Christmas Catalog, but was unable to find anything similar. As always, thank you Elm and Leather Chair 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg 6.jpg 7.jpg 8.jpg 9.jpg for your insight and thoughts.

Piece Dove, THAT'S a LOVELY chair!!! Do you mean end caps like on the top of the chair posts that look brass swirled? If so, are they BOTH missing from the front legs??

The only name I can think of for the style is Late Victorian Mishmash; I'm seeing bits of Aesthetic, Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts with some Gothic holding the whole thing together.

Thank you. Yes, those are what I am referring to. Only the front right cap is missing.

Piece, lovely chair. You might want to find a small metal craftsman - they are out there - and usually work alone or in a small shop. Some even do it part time. They will want to remove and use the original to make a mold. When finished you won't be able to tell the difference.

Wish my FIL was still around. He would have loved doing it!
