I am trying to find out what these nice little things are!

My husband rescued a couple of boxes of interesting bits from his mother. They were destined for the charity shop.

I have done a little research and can only imagine they are knife rests???

there are no markings (that I can see) and I have no idea what metal they are, where they originally came from and age...

    Any ideas? :shame:

They do look like silver plated knife rests. The birds could be partridges or grouse.

Thanks everyone. I do love them! They are very dark, so I guess they are badly tarnished.

Would it be worth it trying to clean them up somehow? I don’t want to ruin them..

Get yourself some good cream polish such as Wright's, Goddard's, or Simichrome.

    Do not
use the dips or the aluminum foil method.

You don't have to get the birds perfectly polished as you will be able to see the definition better.

You may also find some marks if you polish them.
