Hoping someone can figure this out. 10 years and no one knows

 

I will try. Pretty basic but a odd piece.

 

4 small half inch wholes on top. 3 two inch holes below. Sealed top with small ring in too.

 

Would love to figure out what this is

 

Can you tell if something has been burned in it before - like charcoal/coal/wood?

 

i think it's for garlic bulbs...

 

Doesn't appear so. I was thinking of some kind of smoker.

 

Had bulb like thing thought. But why is top sealed ? I thought of some baby chick thing and mini smoker or warmer.

 

If the top is in fact sealed then the ring is there to carry or hang it.
Now I'm thinking a crude songbird house....
but your right...it's a mystery !

 

Bird house? Looks meant to be suspended. Heavy? Lightweight? Written while komokwa was posting.

 

Would a birdhouse have holes in the top?

I was thinking hens and chicks planter, but it's small and only has 3 side smallish holes...

 

Thought of some kind of minnow bait keeper

 

Your bucket reminds me of a calf feeder

 

No. Needs to be filled partially with water...and...the minnows could swim out of the holes.

 

A lid of some sort?
