Featured What are these called?

    I found these two pictures today stcmy local thrift. They look to be raised embossing? I'm wondering what the correct term for these items are called? They look well done. Thank you for any info. All I can read om the back of the picture is "Webster groves Missouri".

    Looks like plaster ware / chalk ware?

    What does it look like from behind? Are these plaques of a noticeable thickness? Or are they sheets of paper? If paper, then embossed is the word you are looking for.

    I can't tell how they were made but first one is the goddess Demeter/Ceres. Second could be Cupid reviving Psyche after she is struck down on her way back from Hades.

    Thanks guys! Yeah its paper so embossing cameo heads it is!
