Wow, I can't even imagine a plastic tub full. That must have been 40 or 50 pounds?

Once you dive in, it's hard to come up for air, isn't it? LOL. It's kind of exhausting though, because once you start looking through, you don't want to stop until you've seen everything!

Here's just a few things from the lot. The black cuff bracelet is jorgen jensen, the ring is ziggy originals, the pewter necklace (& another necklace not pictured) are jorgen jensen. There's renoir, les bernard, taxco, etc.

The picture doesn't include the silver or gold that I found.

The copper cuff bracelet is my favorite so far. Here's a better view of the front of it.

    Is the cuff bracelet signed?

No, it's not. The more I look at it, the more I'm not liking it as much. At first I saw a copper bracelet with a fierce, almost tribal looking design. But now I see googly faces. And once your eyes refocus and see them, it's hard to "unsee" them....lol.

I think the design is west coast - Haida or like that - but that doesn't mean it's first nation.

Thanks moreotherstuff for a direction to look. I learned something new today; I was not familiar with the name Haida.

I LOVE it - googly faces and all!! The birds look like eagles, which are favorites of mine. We have a telescope in our front room and it is trained on an eagle's nest. There are at least 2 eagles living in it. :penguin:

I have been so excited to get this lot in the mail.

Though the seller said that nothing was marked, I've already found a patent date of Jun. 5, 1877 on one of the bar brooches and possibly a karat mark (95% worn away) on the mourning brooch.

I love, love the photo locket with crescent moons and ruby accents. The back is beautifully etched.

And thanks to the AB board, I know that the one brooch has a sapphiret! Never would have known that a month ago. :)

    Thanks. :)

The lot did not even mention the word "gold" anywhere, but you can tell it is just by the pictures. IDK yet if it's all gold filled or solid gold, but I'll be happy either way given how pretty the pieces are (although a little solid gold would be awesome!).

Wouldn't you just die if that was a real diamond? I remember seeing on TV where a gal bought a brooch for I think a quarter? in the UK, well it turned out to be real diamonds and other gem stones and worth a small fortune.

The brooch with the hair is clearly late 19th C as is the one next to it. In general, tiny diamonds are not worth anything significant, and anything unmarked is rolled gold until proven otherwise.

Nice lot of jewelry there. The large stone sure looks like it could possibly be a diamond. You will have to let us know how this lot turns out.
