Hi! By all research, I suspect this is a Sceaux Figurine. I am not able to identify it clearly or find alot of info about my "poor little guy". LOL. Can anyone help me? My photo of the bottom is too large to upload. I'll keep trying.

Pictures must be under 1MB. If on your phone, try emailing them to yourself as medium to resize them.

I know nothing whatsoever about figurines, so I can't help you. I just found the word "Sceaux" to be interesting. Members who know something will be around soon. They can help you.

I think the base is a telling point. That rectangle-under-the-pillow doesn't look like the base on the Sceaux figurines I'm seeing online. It does appear to be faience, which Sceaux produced from its founding until later in the 18th C. I don't know who else was producing like figurines, but that doesn't mean there wasn't anyone. It may be that old.

    Here's a bit about Sceaux:

Is it a hunter? Is he holding a rifle?

The paintwork is very different from the cold tone glaze on both Sceaux and pre-1840 British figures. With these colours, and it being made in what looks like two pieces (figure and base), I say post 1840 British.

It is also rare, but not incredibly so. Here’s one listed on eBay a while back, wrongly identified as 18th century (it didn’t sell). Note yours has a base, so it definitely was made in two pieces which increases its value a bit.

EDIT: There are actually a few of these guys on Google if you search “staffordshire figure gun.” This site dates the figure to 1830 which is still too early IMO but not by far: https://www.richardgardnerantiques....dshire-figure-of-a-hunter-with-a-gun-and-dog/
