Featured Staffordshire pottery or not?

    20210521_192209.jpg Bought this little pot today, I believe it may be a quill holder. Any idea of its age, is it staffordshire?
    It has no discernable markings.

    I wonder if you could show a couple of other angles and the bottom. All I can think of from that angle is a severed head from the French Revolution.

    Looks like an ashtray to me. We've had others of that basic design.

    It looks correct for a novelty Staffordshire head inkwell/quill holder to me but this is not really my area of expertise so wait for other opinions. Very interesting!
