Featured Any thoughts on these bisque spill vases?

These at not the sort of thing that I usually sell but the quality is very high. I thought I would find more the same quite easily but after hours of trying I’ve drawn a blank.

The girls’ clothes are decorated with applied flowers and I’ve not found any similar. The egg spill holders are very thin and coated in brown moss. The faces are almost modern.

The only mark is impressed 1221 and a painted 1221

 

Curious. The figures have a nineteenth century look and the vases a twentieth century feel and look cleaner than I would expect. Any wear under the shoes?

That impressed numbering style is very German or Austrian.

 

Do you think it's a boy and a girl back from the days young boys wore dresses? The roses seem odd for a boy.

 

I thought two girls but you could be right as the one with the book could be a boy but, as you say, roses strange. Weird that I can't find another. If modern they would be mass produced but I'm tending to think they are Victorian.
