    978C9D76-9766-4221-BB9E-CFC54ACBA18B.jpeg There isn’t a decorative wood forum that I can see so I’m posting these here.

    I cannot find an example anywhere of this carved head and conical beehive like pattern wood candlesticks.

    They sort of match but the scale is slightly different between the two so I’m assuming they were are handmade - but they both fit standard taper candles.

    the head looks to me like a medieval page boy or maybe a Dutch boy with the haircut and hat style, but if you know, please share!

    The wood is really lightweight but the carving is really well done. So I can’t determine if they were just tourist trinkets in a design many locals from wherever they came from copied and made or if these have some other origin.

    Anyone ever see anything like these?

    Thanks in advance!

    @Cloudeeuh - Hello & welcome to the forum!! :happy::happy:

    I can't help you with these pieces but @Any Jewelry might be able to help you out. She may not be back on the board until tomorrow sometime because right now she is fast asleep in the Netherlands. :)

    I just wanted to thank you again! With the suggestion you shared I was able to hone my research and find very similar pair of candlesticks (see picture below) that help me to place these as mid century Ecuadorian folk art. il_1588xN.1810049879_2xnm.jpg il_1588xN.1810049725_evrb.jpg

    Oh, great! Always good to have an ID. The funny thing is, @bercrystal tagged me because I am Dutch.;) Good thing I also know a bit about Andes countries, a love everyone in our family shared.:)

    When I saw them I immediately thought of you. I was 99% sure they weren't the Bali? figures but that was probably what made me think of you. :kiss::kiss::kiss:
