I have these five spoons. Two with the red enameling and three with the eagle. all are 4". They came in the box shown but I don't think is is originally for them.

If you ever get up there you should take the old scenic route hwy 70. Built in the 1920s If you like two lane winding roads with tunnels through the mountainside, and tons of old bridges.

I think I'll be heading that way next year. Sounds like an interesting driving adventure!

@Bakersgma can you see the mark. Looks like a jar with LE inside?

Bakers, is on the “Where have they been”? List. :( I hope she’s alright. Maybe she’s taken a trip?

The font of the 835 looks like German to me, I looked through German marks, but don’t see it.

    Maybe @DragonflyWink knows?

    I thought it was LF.

It could be LF. Neither comes up though.

Sorry, don't know the maker, did a cursory search, but while I fully understand the desire to track down a maker, for me, sometimes it's just not worth putting much effort into it.

German-made enamel souvenir shields/badges/plaques like yours were very popular around the 1950s-'70s (might still be made), showing up soldered on to spoons, shot glasses, keyrings, etc., and of course as loose charms (my brother sent me a sterling bracelet with several charms when he was stationed in Germany in 1969-70).

They were made in silver from .800 to .935 fineness, as well as silverplate, and done for all sorts of international locations (I have a charm from Sea World, and a couple of spoons from places other than Germany), and they were produced by numerous manufacturers, often not even bearing a maker's mark; Fritz Reu, Christoph Widmann, and Kohlbecker/Antiko were some of the more prolific makers.

The box is typical of mid 20th century German jewelers' presentation cases, would expect a matched set inside, but possible the retailer just gave the buyer a case with purchase of six spoons of their choice...
