I picked this up at a consignment store today. I think it is a watch fob or medal commemorating the 90th birthday of Wilhelm I. It seems to be in very good condition for its age, making me think it was never really used. I haven't been able to find another like it though. Could it be a reproduction piece?
There were many patriotic medals struck by the Prussians. I don`t think its a watch fob. It looks to have been plated. Do you know the metal, weight.
I I'm sorry, i don't have a scale, measuring tape, or testing yet. I don't think it is solid silver. It has some minor dark tarnish, but very little and it may just be dirt.

It appears to have been used as a watch fob, as could be anything from a mounted rabbit foot to a lucky musket ball (the one that just misssed you) and I can't think of much else you could do with it. Around 1900 there were milllions of watch chains from gold down to plated base metal so many things that could fit a waistcoat pocket were used, and many have survived, including what wold be valuable coins now if they did not have holes punched in them.
all Germans that have it on offer call it medal. and it seems not a favorite with them. hole seems original, chain looks like one for a sink plug. but why not used as a watch fob or on the end of a Bierzipfel. https://picclick.de/Erinnerungsmedaille-90Geburtstag-Kaiser-Wilhelm-323311782159.html
