    Hi,
    Because green and yellow wax beans are cut into Juliana (sp) strips.

    I did it a couple of times, decades ago, when I still did my own baking, etc. Now I get fresh pasta home delivered.:)

    Definitely NOT! I LOVE those - and good old regular green beans, but the ones I can't handle are FROZEN FRENCH CUT - ew!

    why are they called runner beans ? do you get the runners ?

    Fid, they grow up canes by means of long spiral tendrils, which we call runners. Basically, they run all over the place!

    Wow I would love to live some place where I could get fresh pasta. Pasta is my favorite next to cheese. I always have at least 5 or 6 different types of pasta and cheese in the house at all times,

    Hi DeAnne,
    I am with you. When I lived in Brooklyn there were three or four pasta shops on my block. The best was the pasta from the lady across the street. She made pasta every three days. It was hanging everywhere including her spare beds covered with pasta. I really miss Millie's pasta. She was the one who used to soften up her octopus in the washing machine. Oh God do I miss the old Brooklyn.
