Interesting, although I can't add a thing for my area on Thrifts mainly because I have never been in a thrift store in my entire life as they don't carry what I am looking for.:(

You might be surprised. I found a birdseye (exact wood unknown) cradle in the ReStore once. The finish was gone and I don't know how old it was but if I could have fit it into my back seat... Someone said it was pulled out of a barn.

Oh well. The price for the wood alone was higher than what they were charging. It wasn't on the floor for a whole hour. A farm-made table with a solid cherry and mahogany 3-piece top took a month. You can't get those boards any more.

Yes, that is often the case these days, you can't buy the wood for the asking price of old furniture.
I may want to revise the pilgrim cradle thingy as I am pretty sure I could sell it!

Yes, you can but, you will PAY & I mean PAY DEARLY!

27-inch wide walnut board X 5 feet long was $600-$700 I purchased 5-10 years ago, guessing AT LEAST 1k now.

Nice hunk - an MCM freak would put a metal stand under it and call it Finished. It would make a heckuva table.

I live about five miles up the street from the Wadsworth. They're probably not cutting it loose any time soon.
